Alvin (Al) Jones, CFP, CLU

Alvin (Al) Jones began his career with London Life in 1996, then joined Freedom 55 Financial in 2000. He holds Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. Career success led him to form A. Jones Wealth & Estate Planning Inc. A qualifying member of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) for five years (2002 to 2007), he has also served two terms as President of the Simcoe-Muskoka Chapter of Advocis the Financial Advisors Association of Canada. Al has been a member of the Advocis Chapter Board for the past three years and, as of November, 2008, now serves as chair. Al has also been elected to the National Board of Advocis, as a director. His work includes being a member of the Advocis Ontario Political Action Committee.

Al continues to be active in the community. He has served for two terms as president and three as vice president of the Innisfil Chamber of Commerce. He is currently vice chair of the board of the People’s Credit Union, and has recently received the Accredited Credit Union Director’s Designation from Dalhousie University. Al is also convenor for the Simcoe Scotch Nosing Society and has been a Scout leader for the last 10 years with 1st Painswick Scouting, and enjoys coaching house league hockey.

Al is married to Sue, and together they’ve lived in the beautiful city of Barrie, Ontario for the past 16 years, raising their sons Adam, 17, and Connor, 13, and enjoying their dog, Gracie.

I’ve lived in the Barrie area for 11 years and I’ve been a financial security advisor with Freedom 55 Financial for nine and a half years. Before then, I worked at NationalTrust and Scotiabank for 12 and a half years. I’ve been married to my wife Michelle for 12 years and have two daughters Giulia, eight-years-old and Aliscia, six-years-old. We love to travel as a family. I earned my Certified Financial Planner designation seven years ago.

 

Barry Sonmor

Barry has worked as a Financial Security Advisor with Freedom 55 Financial for over three years. His more than 25 years of business and business management experience, combined with ongoing professional development helps him provide solutions for each client’s unique business and personal financial situation. Currently, Barry is the communication and membership chairperson for the Simcoe-Muskoka chapter of Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada). He also volunteers at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He’s been married for 25 years and has two sons.

 

Jason Pilon

Financial Security Advisor

Jason Pilon is new to Freedom 55 Financial, but not new to providing excellent service.

Jason, his wife, and his young family live in Angus, where Jason is a founding member and current vice president of the Angus Chamber of Commerce, plays hockey and enjoys spending time with his family.

Jason is looking forward to helping us meet the growing needs of our clientele.

 

Cindy Wiggan

Marketing Associate

Cindy came from the medical industry and began working for Al Jones as a marketing associate in September 2006. A foster parent for whom assisting others is a passion, Cindy is also mom to an 18 year-old environmentally-aware daughter, and a 14 year-old son. Cindy also volunteers with Girl Guides of Canada and loves to canoe, portage and camp.

 

Suzy Vespera

Marketing Associate

Suzy has worked as a marketing associate with Freedom 55 Financial since 2003. She provides administrative and operations activities to support to A. Jones Wealth and Estate Planning Inc. Suzy lives in Barrie with her husband Sam and her dogs Jessie and Jake.
